Hey HEMI Fans! It’s April 26 and you know what that means! 4/26 has become widely known to enthusiasts as a day of celebration of the 426 HEMI engine.

At its official unveiling in 1964, the first engine with hemispherical-shaped combustion chambers was considered a racing engine. Times have changed, however, and as the 426 Hemi was tamed, it has been widely used in Mopar production cars, albeit with a slightly different design than the first Hemis.

Mopar goes all out on “HEMI Day”, with celebratory activities on all of its social media networks. The Mopar Facebook page invites you to upload a picture of you with your favorite HEMI, even if it’s a HEMI dog! If you follow #HEMIDay on Twitter, keep an eye out for fun facts and Mopar trivia. On Instagram, Mopar may just have an exclusive photo or two to show you.

Get out there and tell everyone what HEMI Day means to you!
