In a video posted on YouTube by Red Bull last week, the Pastrana Racing Rallycross team introduced its newest full-time driver. Bryce Menzies will join Travis Pastrana in the 2013 Global Rallycross season as the team adds a second Dodge Dart to its line-up.
Pastrana, a legendary jack-of-all-trades when it comes to extreme sports, encountered a rough season in 2012 with two losses early on, as well as a wreck in the first round of the X Games that took him out of the race.
Hopefully the talented driver will have better luck this coming season as Menzies joins him with the goal of dominating this season’s Rallycross competition. Last year, Menzies ran with the Pastrana team as a fill-in driver and proved he could handle the heat, so this year he gets his own 2013 Dodge Dart to run alongside Pastrana. The No. 199 Red Bull Racing/Discount Tire Dodge Dart will be manned by Pastrana, while Menzies will pilot the No. 99 Red Bull Racing/America’s Tire Dodge Dart. Both cars are beasts, each with some 600-horsepower on tap delivering power to all four wheels.
The video below shows the incredible drivers clowning around with their Darts at the team’s new headquarters—DirtFish Rally School in Washington. If it’s any indication of the upcoming season, the Pastrana Team is in for one hell of a ride.
The action begins in Brazil on April 21.
