You know what they say about building a better mousetrap? Classic Industries has just that sort of new product for you restorers and builders--"Weld Thru" repro body panels.
Come in for more about their E-Body "Weld Thru" offerings...
Rust is often given inoffensive names like, “surface rust,” or “cosmetic rust,” to make it seem harmless. The truth is, when that cosmetic corrosion spreads to the deeper areas of your Mopar, it can threaten the structure of the vehicle and make repair and restoration more complicated.
Thankfully, Classic Industries offers Weld-Thru inner quarter panel and door frame components, to make the process simpler.
“Body panel installation is a critical part of the restoration process for any build,” says Ray Yager, Classic Industries' Merchandising Director. “Our new Weld-Thru products were developed to reduce prep time, while providing greater corrosion resistance and a better end result.”
Classic Industries’ all-new Weld-Thru line is the forefront of a new trend in the restoration industry. Instead of the traditional black EDP coating which must be removed before welding, Weld-Thru products are finished with a special silver weld-through primer, which creates several advantages.
Besides the minimal preparation required, Weld-Thru provides corrosion protection between overlapped panels and promotes superior weld characteristics. Heat-affected-zone problems are eliminated, reducing panel distortion and allowing for better penetration into the dense steel, compensating for impurities in the existing sheet metal.
Here's the Weld-Thru lineup that's now available for your E-Body project(s):
