Special Hemi car eliminator race at Beaver Springs during the Nostalgia Nationals

It has been formally announced that a special Hemi race program will happen at Beaver Springs Dragway in central Pennsylvania during the 2012 Nostalgia Nationals in July. Hosted during the event will be a Saturday eliminator at the track for Hemi powered dragcars, open to entries from 1975 or earlier; this class was added after Beaver Bob McCardle was contacted by a group of Mopar racers from Canada who intended to make the trek down for the legendary Sunday-only extravaganza that marks the finale of the York US30 Reunion and Musclecar Madness. Since Bob already had a day of Saturday racing scheduled that included the East Coast Gassers and a Junior Stock program, he added a class to allow the Hemi cars to run each other. While many fans will be at the York US30 Reunion in York that day (which is NOT in conflict with Carlisle’s All-Chrysler Nationals this year), the race will serve as a warm up for the big Nostalgia Super Stock race that will occur the next day.
