On Monday, country music star, Tim McGraw, met the winner of a personally customized 2013 Challenger SRT8 through Pennzoil’s “Four Wheels To Freedom” sweepstakes! We had written to tell you about the contest in early May. In addition to the grand prize Challenger giveaway, an additional 40 first place winners received JBL Tim McGraw On Ear Headphones, and 50 second place winners received posters from Tim McGraw’s 2013 Two Lanes of Freedom Tour presented by Pennzoil.

Kentucky resident, April Vaught, was the lucky grand prize winner! She caught up with McGraw in Nashville where he handed her the keys, went over the specs of the Challenger, and went for a test drive with her before she brought it home to Kentucky.

McGraw, who helped design the car, which is inspired by his “Two Lanes of Freedom” album art, explained, “I've always loved cars, and to be able to help design and customize one was such a fun experience for me. This car is unreal.”

“A natural progression in our relationship with McGraw was to bring his love of cars to life for fans, and what better way to do that than put him in the driver’s seat to customize an American classic for one lucky consumer,” said Bree Sandlin, Pennzoil Global Brand Manager. “Once completed, the Four Wheels to Freedom vehicle is even more impressive than we could have imagined and beautifully encompasses the passion McGraw and Pennzoil share for the freedom derived from the open road.”

Equipped with launch control and cranking out 427 horsepower, the 2013 Challenger SRT8 is the most powerful Challenger yet, accelerating from 0 to 60 in less than five seconds. Among the modifications chosen, McGraw included a Mopar lowering kit and custom hood, which pays tribute to the legendary 1970½ Dodge Challenger T/A. The colors were also chosen by McGraw, with the blue and orange color combination and fade being used to convey the feeling of motion.

Vaught excitedly explained taking ownership of the Challenger and meeting Tim McGraw as being “a once in a lifetime deal! I think I’m still in a state of shock and denial. And the car! The car is more than I could have ever dreamed of and the fact that it is customized by Tim McGraw makes it all that much more special to me.”

“After putting so much thought into designing the ‘Four Wheels to Freedom’ muscle car, I wanted to be there in person to hand the keys over to the lucky winner,” confessed McGraw. “It’s a powerful machine with nothing but open road in front of it!”
