You know that July's middle weekend is a special time in the world of Mopar enthusiasts--it's when the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals take place, with a full schedule of events-within-the-event that make it a can't-miss one.

This year, there's even more reason to celebrate--Friday of that weekend (July 12) is Collector Car Appreciation Day, not just at the Carlisle Fairgrounds, but from coast to coast.

Come on in for more...

The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals is a celebration of all things Mopar. The weekend hosts thousands of cars, vendors and enthusiasts, all highlighting the best from Detroit's production lines.

On Collector Car Appreciation Day (Friday, July 12), will you be at Carlisle?

This year's event, July 12-14 at the Carlisle (PA) Fairgrounds, offers two additional celebrations. First, there are the second annual Mopar Hall of Fame inductions. Secondly, everyone who comes to Carlisle or an event nationwide on Friday, July 12, has the opportunity to honor the collector car hobby via Collector Car Appreciation Day.

"Once again Carlisle Events is proud to participate in Collector Car Appreciation Day," says co-owner and co-founder Bill Miller, Jr. "I invite everyone to join us for the celebration at Carlisle, in conjunction with our Carlisle Chrysler Nationals. The Friday, July 12 celebration on the Red 102.3 stage and grandstand area will allow us to hear from the many participants that enjoy what the collector car does for the economy." Miller adds, "The collector car hobby brings together a wonderful segment of America that enjoys the art form of the automobile. With the automobile making America what it is today, one in five people make a living with something connected to the car business, much like we do at Carlisle. Be part of the fun, and I look forward to seeing everyone!"

2013 marks the fourth time that Collector Car Appreciation Day, or CCAD, is recognized nationally, and the first time since July of 2011 that Carlisle Events has been able to host the national day of automotive acknowledgement. CCAD is a congressional resolution sponsored by the Congressional Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus Co-Chairs Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) and Senator Richard Burr (R-NC). Senators Tester and Burr are strong advocates for the automotive hobby in Washington, and recognize the integral role collector cars have played in fostering our nation's appreciation for the automobile's unique historical place in our history. Because of that, CCAD was born in 2010, and is celebrated annually as part of America's ever-growing love affair with the car and motorsports.

Last fall, SEMA Vice President of Government Affairs Steve McDonald said,"The U.S. Senate helped launch Collector Car Appreciation Day by passing Resolutions each year at our request. As we prepare for the fourth celebration of our nation's automotive heritage, enthusiasts and related businesses are already planning open houses, car cruises, club gatherings and educational events throughout the world to mark this annual commemoration. In fact, Collector Car Appreciation Day is quickly taking on a global character, with events held in the United States, Canada and Australia."

Some Carlisle Chrysler Nationals participants appreciate their Mopars in the tire-shredding, crowd-pleasing Burnout Contest.

With Collector Car Appreciation Day taking place at Carlisle on Friday, July 12, at noon.,enthusiasts can expect to hear from Carlisle Events’ ownership, special guests, dignitaries and more. In addition, select cars will on display with their owners honored as part of the celebration. These cars will represent a sampling of the over 45,000 Mopar-produced machines that converge on Carlisle each summer.
