After more than a year, our Dodge Li'l Red Express truck is finally getting underway.
Have you ever had a project that was just hard to get started on? We've had our Li'l Red Express truck for a couple of years now, and finally convinced our local body shop, JD's Paint and Body in central Florida, that it was time to get started.
This truck was pretty rough when we got it, so I'm getting a lot of great photos of all aspects of body work, including metal patching and fabricating panels that aren't available from the aftermarket.
Since Dodge trucks are full-frame vehicles, we're taking the cab, front end, and bed all off the truck for painting. We may even try to find another cab as this one is pretty rusty.
As we get closer to painting, we're pretty sure we'll go back the original red color with gold graphics, but unsure as to how we'll build the rest of the truck. The original 360 is in place, but we're unsure of the mileage and will have to go through it. Should we add some stroke while we're at it? Aftermarket heads? Let us know your thoughts and what you think of the Li'l Red Express as a project vehicle!
