We swapped a mild Comp flat-tappet cam into the 383 in our Chrysler Newport, for easy power in a days work.

When it comes to technical stuff, a cam swap is something most Mopar enthusiasts can do themself. The 383 in our Newport is mild, with 8.5:1 compression and stock heads, so we thought we'd wake it up a little with a mild Comp hydraulic cam. This cam is only .470 lift, but thanks to modern lobe technology we gained over 20 horsepower and nearly 20 lb/ft of torque across the board.
