You may have seen our "Good Cop" project on the website, now it's ready for patrol thanks to Inline Performance Specialists and AMSOIL.

synthetic automotive fluids

In a previous blog, we introduced the white Dodge Charger police car we picked up last month from an individual who purchased the retired cruiser from a police auction. Last week we took the car to Inline Performance and made some repairs so that our car is roadworthy.

Since we had low-mileage brakes that we removed from our '09 Challenger project car, we used these parts to replace the worn rotors and pads on our Charger. We also replaced the calipers while we were at it.

To service the car's systems, we had AMSOIL send synthetic oil, transmission fluid, gear oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, and coolant. We didn't get any service records with this car, so we decided it would be a good idea to replace all of the car's fluids with the best synthetic fluids available.

Tod at Inline also checked the fault codes since our check engine light was on, and other than a bad alternator and number two passenger side oxygen sensor issue our car is good to go. The alternator was an easy fix with a new unit from Inline, and we'll likely address the O2 sensor when we install new exhaust on this project. In the meantime, it's the rear sensor and doesn't affect the way the car runs so we're ready to hit the streets.

Look for more coverage of this project on the website, and in the pages of Mopar Muscle and Mopar Now magazines.
