THANK YOU EVERYONE! I'm happy to say that thanks to our readers and a whole bunch of great military and civilian volunteers, Sergeant David Wilson will be spending Christmas day with his family!

I knew that our readers and Americans in general were very generous people, but I had no idea the response I would get from my postings regarding helping Jim Wilson get his son home for Christmas.

I'd like to personally thank everyone who called or emailed to volunteer their time and vehicles, and thanks to everyone getting the word out I'm happy to say we've secured a van that Jim will use to get his son home. Special thanks go to Garret Woodard at Inline Performance Specialists who read my blog and forwarded it go his fellow soldiers in the National Guard.

Through this, retired Colonel Gary Clark of the USAF, who is also the Chairman of the Polk County Veterans Council, made some contacts in the community which led us to the van we needed. Special thanks also to veteran Sharon Gray who volunteered her time and resources to get Sgt. Wilson home, and also Jane Hammond who is the Executive Director of ElderPoint Ministries. Jane graciously volunteered ElderPoint's van for this mission, as well as a list of volunteers who were happy to spend their
Christmas driving Sergeant Wilson from Tampa to Lakeland and back.

American Legion Post 4 in Lakeland, Florida also gladly offered their van and personnel for this mission, and we thank them as well as the many others who offered to help.

I encourage all of our readers to give back to their communities during the holiday season, and to thank the veterans and military personnel who allow us the freedoms we enjoy in America and around the world. Thank you for your service Sergeant Wilson, and thank you Jim for giving your three sons the encouragement to be Marines!

Merry Christmas everyone, and Happy New Year!

Dave
