As most of you are enjoying a relaxing Sunday with your friends and families, over here at Mopar Muscle we're preparing to head to Memphis where Comp Cams is hosting our annual dyno contest.

Seven of our eight competitors brought their big-blocks to the Mopar Nationals, and are ready to do battle this week at Comp. We kick off the dyno challenge at 8am Monday morning, and will dyno two contest engines each day until Thursday. This year the winner will be determined by horsepower per cubic inch, while remaining within a budget of $5,500 for the entire build. Engine builders who exceed the budget will be penalized horsepower, making this year's contest one of the most interesting we've had.

Be sure to check out the website as we'll be giving daily Engine Challenge updates as well as posting videos of the engines running on the dyno at Comp's research facility. This is a fun week for us here at Mopar Muscle, and we're excited to share with our readers the parts and techniques used by some of the top Mopar engine shops in the industry. Check out each issue of Mopar Muscle as we highlight the Mopar big-block, and be sure to follow the Engine Challenge articles to see who wins the 2011 contest!
