Were you too young to remember when the first TV commercial aired for the first Dodge Challenger? Come on in and see it for yourself.

(If you were old enough, come on in for another look)

This color spot aired during the fall of 1969, introducing the all-new E-Body Challenger...as well as Dodge's 1970 ad tag line "You Could Be Dodge Material".

It also introduced Joe Higgins, later billed as the "Dodge Safety Sheriff," who was Dodge's TV pitchman through the early/mid '70s.

There was a second Challenger-intro spot that ran that fall, with a Challenger R/T convertible, and a nice young lady (who turned out to be the mayor's niece)...causing "Sheriff Joe" to do a huge double take...the spot ends with Joe smiling and telling her, "Y'all drive careful now, hear?"

If any of you know where that second Challenger spot is online, please let us know!
