Myron Piatek is well-known to IHRA Sportsman race fans at Maryland International Raceway--he's won the Stock class at IHRA's race there the past two years.
Make that three years...Myron's win this year was a also win in the IHRA/Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Spectacular.
Come on in for more....
As part of its 40th anniversary, the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) scheduled two special sportsman events this year: the IHRA/Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Spectacular, featuring the biggest payouts in their history for all of their Sportsman classes.
The first event, held at Maryland International Raceway, Budds Creek, Maryland, is in the books as Piatek, of Holly Hill, Florida, took his 360-powered '75 Dodge Dart Sport to the Stock class win over a field of 53 other cars. With a 11.448-second/114.63 mph run in the final, Myron's winning margin was a scant .0011 seconds. It's also his third IHRA Stock class win at Budds Creek in as many years.
Coming in, Myron had already scored a spot in IHRA's Tournament of Champions World Championship race, thanks to his Stock class win at IHRA's Mardi Gras Nitro Jam in Baton Rouge, Louisiana earlier this season.
Speaking of IHRA's World Championship race, that's also when the second IHRA/Summit Sportsman Spectacular will be held--October 14-16 at Virginia Motorsports Park, preceeding IHRA's Tournament Of Champions World Championship.
