The National Nostalgic Pro Stock Association's big race of the year, the inaugural Chrysler Challenge, a Mopar drag racing festival, car show and swap meet, is this coming weekend, July 22-23,at Marion County Raceway, LaRue, Ohio.
The Chrysler Challenge will feature a 32-car, all-make, Nostalgia Super Stock show, and they're hoping for 16 Nostalgia Pro Stockers. (12 are confirmed so far.)
On the show field, there will be 50 trophy classes--with First, Second and Third Place awards--in Stock, Modified, Trucks and Late Model categories.
Marion County International Raceway is located at 2303 Richwood LaRue Road, LaRue, OH 433332. The track opens for pit parking on Thursday from 5-9 p.m., and time trials start at 10 a.m. on Friday. All cars will get at least three runs. Friday evening will feature a free racers' hog roast and evening bonfire.
On Saturday, there's one time trial in the morning, with a Chicago-style eliminator beginning at 2:30 p.m. All attendees who are NNPSA members will receive $100 travel money.

Then on Sunday, July 24, he next day, Sunday July 24, the on-track action shifts to National Trails Raceway,just east of Columbius, OH., for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Division 3 Points Meet.
There, you'll see legendary Mopars like the The "Pain Killer" Duster, and Don Carlton's Colt, take on the toughest competition (just like backin the day!) The Saturday night hotel for the event is the Baymont Inn and Suites, 1100 Mediterranean Ave (I-71 & Route 161), Columbus, OH 43229 (614) 848-9696. This hotel is located halfway between MCIR and National Trail Raceway.
