The Florida show season is fast approaching…that means it’s time again for the Lake Mirror Classic in Lakeland, coming up October 14-16.

Come on in for more info about this year’s event, which now includes a classic-car auction along with the Concours, Road Tour, and the big Downtown Auto Festival….

This year, the Lake Mirror Classic will not only be the place to see some of the finest rides,but you’ll also have the chance to bid on that “special” one when it crosses the block.

The auction is set for Saturday, October 15, from 1-6 p.m., in Lakeland’s Munn Park, with a preview party on Friday evening, October 14, from 5-7 p.m. (Get more auction info when you contact Higgenbotham Auctioneers at www.higgenbotham.com.)

Also on the weekend’s schedule: the Budweiser Hot Rod Rendezvous on Friday evening, October 14 at the Lake Mirror Park Amphitheatre (a free outdoor concert with 100 hot rods on display);  then on  Saturday, October 15th,  there’s the Concours d’Elegance and huge (600+ cars) Downtown Auto Festival, plus a parade and display of classic wooden boats on Lake Mirror, with the display next to the Concours showfield, an interview with legendary SCCA Trans Am driver Bob Tullius (who, by the way, is the winningest Mopar driver ever in that series) and a vintage fashion show.

On Sunday, October 16, there’s a Brunch and Road Tour, which gets underway at 9 a.m. at the Peggy Brown Building at Lake Mirror Park. (The term “highway beautification” best describes the Road Tour!)
