Why don't people recoil in fear when they see a '58 Plymouth at "Back To The '50s," the big pre-'65 show and cruise weekend in St.Pasul, Minnesota? And what else makes this Hemi loud, other than the headers?
Come in & find out for yourself!
If it isn't a red '58 Plymouth hardtop, people aren't going to think it's "Christine"....so people gave John Tretten's '58 droptop a good look.
Not only did that purple paint job draw some eyeballs, so did the metalworking/paint prep job under it, especially filling all those holes where the OEM chrome trim went on.
And let's not forget that old-school "tuck and roll" custom interior. Yep, that's how it was done back in the day.
Here's another '58 Plymouth, though this one probably sounds angrier than "Christine" ever did when the engine fired up...
....mainly because this one had this Chrysler FirePower Hemi in it, instead of the '58s 301 or 318 Polys.
Speaking of FirePower Hemis, you're probably wondering what else would make this particular early Hemi loud.
Take another look at the picture.
Can't you see that this Hemi has a big brass band out in front of it?
