Route 66 Motorsports Brings Lots of “Eye Candy” to the Heidts Performance Car Challenge
Mark your calendar for the weekend of July 16-17 for the Heidts Performance Car Challenge two day spectacle of speed and car show at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois just south of Chicago. Bill Jelinek’s Route 66 Motorsports is sponsoring the Car Show featuring 9 classes of outstanding Classics, Hot Rods, Customs and Late Model cars. Entry for this two-day car show is a modest $25 and entrants will receive an inaugural HPCC Tee-shirt, goody bag, door prizes and chance to win any number of awards. Entry into the Car Show also gains admission to watch the high-energy Heidts Performance Car Challenge with on track activities where hot performance and race cars from across the country compete in the four-part Optima Challenge. Spectator admission is FREE courtesy of the event sponsors: Heidts Muscle Cars, Wilwood Brakes, Nitto Tires, QA1, and Route 66 Motorsports. There will be plenty of action and everyone is welcome. Route 66 Motorsports has built some of the most stunning and exciting hot rods, muscle cars and pro-touring cars on the planet and specializes in all things that go fast. Route 66 is a leader in everything from vintage hot rod to late-model domestic performance. You can also bet on Bill Jelinek bringing some serious eye candy out for this event, along with many customers who have had their machines transformed at the Route 66 technical center. The Following Classes will be Judged: Street Rod (pre 49) Any domestic cars built prior to 1949 Classic Custom (49-63) Any domestic cars built between 1949 and 1963 Muscle Car (64-74) Any domestic cars built between 1964 and 1974 Street Machine (75-95) Any domestic cars built between 1975 and 1995 Late Model (96-11) Any domestic cars built between 1996 and present Classic Truck (pre 74) Any domestic trucks built prior to 1974 Muscle Truck (75-95) Any domestic trucks built between 1975 and 1995 Late Model truck (96-11) Any domestic trucks built between 1996 and present Under Construction Any unfinished project vehicle Best of Show Winner takes home the "Big Trophy" and sponsor prize package If you have a stunning showpiece or a street/track asphalt monster, come out and play with some of the baddest cars the Midwest has to offer. Amateurs and veterans alike are welcome and invited in either the Performance Car Challenge or the car show. The Heidts Performance Car Challenge (HPCC) promises to be one of the premier multi-element events of the summer and online registration is open now. The Heidts Performance Car Challenge features numerous other street car elements. Come on out and watch as drivers from all over the nation take on the QA1 Road Rally, Heidts Road Course Challenge, , the Nitto Autocross Challenge and the Wilwood Braking Challenge. If that isn't enough, there will also be a Manufacturers Midway featuring many of the top suppliers in the automotive aftermarket. And for those of you that desire a little fender-to-fender competition, Carbon Kustoms will be sponsoring a karting enduro on Saturday evening!
