No matter what you're driving . . . or riding, you should always be prepared when taking a road trip.

I captured this image on Highway 60 in Brandon, Florida, and it clearly shows that this cyclist is prepared for any situation he may encounter on his ride. His safety gear includes reflectors, headlight, tail light, helmet, long pants, long sleeves, a reflective vest, leather boots, rearview mirrors, reflective pants-cuff thingies, and other various items that are difficult to describe. Navigation equipment includes handlebar mounted GPS, various folded maps, and an onboard data-logger. We can only assume the tackle boxes on the back of his bike contain extra bike parts, tools, water, trail-mix, and a variety of Slim-Jims (the kind you eat). The American flag is a nice touch, and also shows any potential enemy combatants that the rider represents the country of freedom, and the most powerful country in the world.

I can only hope I prepare just as well for my upcoming trip to the Mopar Nationals.
