Mecum at Kissimmee: You Want Hemis...They've Got Hemis!

Mecum Auctions, fun with hemispherical heads

What would a collector car be without high-performance Mopars? (Two words: Bore. Ing.)

That's not the case at Mecum's auction this weekend at Kissimmee, Florida, where we spotted a couple of the Hemi-powered cars that'll cross the block.

Lot #S100: 1968 Plymouth GTX, Hemi-powered.

This one is Lot S100--a '68 Plymouth GTX that's set to go up for bids tomorrow. And, per that yellow sticker on the windshield, it's a "No Reserve" car--which means the high bidder on it takes it home. (Will that be you?) Get more info about it at www.mecum.com.

Dodge muscle, circa 1954: The "Red Ram" Hemi.

This other one is all we could get of a '54 Dodge that's also being auctioned by Mecum's tomorrow. The under-hood shot of that Dodge's original Red Ram Hemi is all we got. After taking that picture, the new-fangled, high-tech camera of ours freaked out, turned itself off, and took off down the road running. (I had to get in my Hemi-powered '07 Charger to chase it down!)
