It's again time for our annual Engine Challenge, this year featuring the Mopar low-deck big-block. How much power do you think these enginges will make?

This year's Amsoil/Mopar Muscle Engine Challenge features the low-deck big-block, with Edelbrock Performer RPM cylinder heads and no limit on cubic inches. The engines will all be run on Rockett-Brand 93 octane pump fuel. We also modified the rules slightly, allowing epoxy modification to the heads but no welding.

When the engines showed up at the Mopar Nats, we had quite a variety. Most builders chose a stroker combination of some kind, and remember that the cost of the parts will be factored into the combined torque and horsepower of each engine, so the more spent, the more power has to be made to offset it.

Next week we'll be at Comp Cams in Memphis to dyno these engines, so watch our website for same-day video and pictures of the engines being run. Who do you think will make the most power? Will the most power win the contest?

We'll let you know next week!
