Remember the "Forward Look" Mopars we showed you not too long ago...that were set to cross the block at Mecum's "'57 Heaven" Museum closeout auction in Branson, Missouri?
Here are the DeSotos once again, with their "hammer prices," per the folks at the Mecum Auction Company.
Five examples of the '57 DeSoto line-up, representing each series offered that year, went up for bids at the "'57 Heaven" Museum" closeout auction.
No surprise that the Adventurers brought big bucks. These mid-year-introduction specials were rare then, and VERY rare now.
The droptop drew a winning bid of $250,000....
while the Adventurer hardtop sold for $110,000.
Next up is the Fireflite convertible, from the top DeSoto line at the start of the '57 model run. If you ever see another one like it, especially in this condition, you'll probably shell out close to the $145,000 this one sold for.
The mid-line Firedome convertible also drew a big-bucks winning bid--$125,000.
And the Firesweep wagon (which, if you look close, reveals its badge-engineered Dodge origins) crossed the block and sold for $25,000.
