Mecum Auction continues the momentum from its recent record sale in Monterey at their upcoming St. Charles Auction, where collectors will have a chance to bid on more than 750 vehicles ranging from rare muscle and vintage cars to hot rods and exotics.  The auction takes place October 1-4  at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois.

"We are excited to offer a diverse selection of cars at our four-day St. Charles auction, ranging from the 1920s all the way up to current model specialty cars with the main thrust of cars between 1955 and 1975 model years," said President Dana Mecum.  "We will feature muscle cars, Corvettes, exotics and even some classic cars like a 1935 Auburn Boattail Supercharged Speedster.  With no shortage of classic autos crossing the auction block, both novice and experienced collectors alike will have a chance to add a new favorite to their collections."

Built by American Motors, Kustomized by George barris...AMX-400 crosses the block at Mecum's St. Charles Auction.

The auction schedule includes a 1969 AMC AMX-400 Coupe custom built by George Barris, and seen in the 1970's TV show Banacek (which was part of the NBC Mystery Movie combo in '71--Scott.) AMX-400 is a powered by a 315 HP , 390-inch AMC V8 engine, and it has extensive styling modifications.  This one-off original George Barris Kustom will go up for bid Saturday, Oct. 3, at 2:25 p.m.

Unrestored, matching-numbers and 42K original miles...this '70 Hemi 'Cuda goes up for bids at Mecum's St. Charles auction.

In addition, Mecum will offer a rare 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda 4-speed  that is one of only 284 produced.  This Hemi is even more desirable as it is completely unrestored with a matching-numbers drivetrain, and only 42,000 miles on the odometer.

Mecum's St. Charles Auction is open to the general public with tickets available at the door for $10.  It will be broadcast live on Mecum's television series, "Mecum Auto Auction: Muscle Cars & More"

on HD Theater - Discovery Communications' first 24-hour high-definition cable network, offering compelling real-world and motorized content.  There is still plenty of time for attendees to pre-register to bid on the impressive lineup of cars and to be part of a live television audience.
