With the re-organization of Chrysler into Chrysler Group LLC all but complete, it's time to crank up the assembly lines.
In the case of Brampton Assembly, where the LX-Body 300, Challenger and Charger are built, that may take a while.
According to Tuesday's Windsor Star, Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) Local 1285 President Len Rideout says they don't expect Brampton Assembly to resume production any time before June 29th.
Rideout told The Star that Brampton Assembly's start-up is being delayed due to the bankruptcy of its supplier of floorpan stampings, SKD.
There's no word yet when SKD will be able to start re-supplying floorpan stampings to Brampton, or if Chrysler Group LLC will source them from elsewhere (another vendor, or from one of its own plants).
