unfinished construction, road construction, unfulfilled dreams

During the last presidential campaign, I heard about a bridge to nowhere and wondered where it was. Turns out it's in Jacksonville, Florida.

During the last election, I wondered why anyone would build a bridge to nowhere. Then, while driving my Dodge truck through Jacksonville, Florida, I actually saw a bridge to nowhere. Now this might not be the bridge they were talking about, but it definately goes nowhere, at least for right now.

When they finish it, I think it will actually go somewhere, and then people will go to that place, and maybe decide to live there, making that somewhere, which used to be a nowhere, into a town or city.

I think this is called progress, but only if they finish the bridge . . .
