That's right, Mopar lovers...the ever-watchful California Air Resources Board wants to ban black-painted cars and trucks starting in 2012, in yet another misguided attempt to cure so-called "global warming."

A comment period opens on May 11, and the proposed "final regulations" will be released then.
The Board think that too many people use their A/C on hot days, and thus put more "greenhouse gases" into the air. (If you believe that, I have an old bridge in Brooklyn that I'll sell you cheap--and I'll throw in the Love Canal for free!)
One big problem: The pigments that the paint-makers are experimenting with to meet this standard tend to look like a pile of what a rhinocerous leaves behind. Which is exactly what people with a functioning brain DON'T want their cars to look like.
