One-Adam-12...Did You Pick That Up At The Mount Prospect Police Auction?

'07 Dodge Charger Police Package, still-blissed-out autojournalist

A few weeks in. and I'm still very satisfied with the '07 Charger.

About as satisfied as Elwood Blues after a trip to the mall? Definitely.

But I need to ask you guys a couple of things...

As this is also a potential project car, what upgrades would you like to see on it?

Yeah, it's got a Hemi...and the police package leaves the engine cover with the "HEMI" lettering off.

Headers and/or a high-flow exhaust system? (The stock pipes are kinda quiet)

Or, maybe a supercharger? (The 5.7L Hemi under the hood produces "only" 345 HP at its peak)

Factory gauges aren't much--just the certified 0-160 MPH speedometer, tach, gas and termperature gauges. ALsao note the "PRND" transmission shifter quadrant--cop-package column shift blocks the dash-mounted shifter from going into any low(er) gears.

-Auxilary gauges? (Maybe some A-pillar-mounted ones, as there's only a 0-160 (Certified!) speedometer, 0-7000 RPM tach, gas gauge and a numberless coolant-temperature gauge)
Or how about chassis and structural mods like subframe connectors, like the installs in other LX-platform Mopars that we've done tech pieces on?

The dual exhausts, big (18-inch) wheels and lack of badging are visual cues to this car's cop-package origins.

-Graphics? (Maybe some "ghost" graphics that look really subtle...) And how about an upgraded in-cabin sound system? (The stock radio/single-disc CD player is good, to a point...)

Took this outside Don Garlits' Museum of Drag Racing on the way home...the day before, heavy rains washed off all the salt that had accumulated since picking the car up in Illinois a few days earlier.

Remember that this car is (& still will be) a daily driver, so the mods must be something that can be lived with in normal, everyday driving.
