What the heck is going on in the automotive world? Is this look really cool, or does this guy need a 4 x 4 Oldsmobile to get down his driveway?

I'm not sure who decided it was cool to jack up 4-door family cars and put giant tires on them, but I think it looks terrible. Are these guys really car guys, Or are they just doing this to make a statement? I guess the statement is "Hey, look, I have so much money I can put ridiculously large wheels and tires on my car!"

I guess its good exercise too, climbing in and out of a car that's six feet off the ground. If I had a car like this I sure wouldn't worry about ground clearance, I'd drive over everything.
