Driving Fast

In a What?

As a die-hard Mopar lover, I really don't have any affection for Chevy guys, especially the ones who drive Corvettes.

The other day I went to lunch with some of the other magazine editors and one of them had a new Corvette C6 that Chevy gave him to drive for a week. At lunch I generally made fun of his manhood for driving Corvettes, but then when we left he tossed me the keys. I thought, "should I drive it?", then I thought "since Mopar won't give us Vipers to test, I might as well". Even though I really don't like Corvettes or the people who drive them (except Jay Heath because he let me drive this one), I must admit this was a fun car. More than 430 horsepower, a six-speed, and great handling made it easy to smoke Associate Editor Diossi in his GTO through the turns, and from a stop-light (even though he did tree me).

We even did what Diossi called a "ricer fly-by" at 130 plus mph coming onto the crosstown expressway, and could have gone a lot faster.

It still doesn't have the torque of a big-block Mopar though.
