So I flew into Philadelphia earlier this week and picked up my Dodge Durango rental car. I hooked up the 'ole navigation system and began my trips to a few local stops. First off was sports central in South Philly. I was able to see the home of the Eagle's, Lincoln Financial Field. The home of the Phillies, Citizen's Bank Park, and my favorite, Wachovia Center, home of the Flyers (and the Sixers). Then it was off to Geno's and Pats to compare their cheesesteaks - I regret eating two. During my little cruise around the area I was experiencing pretty horrible gas mileage, 13mpg to be exact. I don't drive an SUV every day, and I am extremely happy that I don't. I average 18-21mpg throughout the week and I don't think I could deal with a 13mpg SUV like a Durango. When it was all said and done, I was able to knock down 17mpg after driving from Philadelphia to Lehigh Valley to Wilmington, Delaware. That's pretty awful if you ask me, but considering I was lugging around 3-4 passengers during that time, I guess it isn't too bad.
