Different directions

The shortest distance between two points

Do you ever notice that roads go all different directions?

I was driving around in my Dodge Coronet the other day and realized something. Roads go in all different directions.

In high school geometry, I learned that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, but roads curve and go all different directions. I wonder why they didn't make all the roads just in straight lines between the places people go?

Maybe the people who made the roads just like going different places than I do, because I can't get anywhere I want to go in a straight line from my house.
