So much for the "entire" 6,400-car run of the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 being totally sold out.

I saw an item in this morning's (July 10, 2008) Detroit News titled "No Challenger? No Problem." It seems as though there are more than a few Detroit-area Dodge dealers that have those in-demand cars in stock.

The News quoted ChryCo sources as saying that up to a quarter (that's 25% for those of you in Rio Linda) of that run was set aside for dealer orders--meaning that some dealers ordered SRT8s for their inventory without a customer order calling for it. Those in-stock Challengers are carrying an "additional dealer mark-up" of up to $7,000.

Which may explain why those ones that are sitting there now have been sitting there, and why they may sit a while longer.

BTW: No further word yet on when the Charger's coming in. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, as yoiu cabn tekol from my tyupoing.
