"One-Adam-Twelve, continue patrol...."

Dodge Charger Police, Mopar police cars, Duster 360

Unfortunately, the ’06 Charger (ex) Police that I mentioned previously is not in my hands. Yet.

Turns out that the cops who use it for patrol duty “…want to put some more miles on it,” as the dealer that I’ve been pursuing this car has heard. He’s also heard that the replacement for it (a Crown Vic, of all things) still hasn’t arrived from the Blue Oval people yet.

Oh well.

I’ll just have to wait a bit longer.

Coolness is not the issue here. The issue is getting an LX-platform Mopar rear-drive with a Hemi and all the other good factory high-performance hardware CHEAP! As in, about half (or less) of what a used Charger R/T, SRT8 or Daytona is going for.

Besides, with so many base Chargers around in non-cop service, especially here near Mopar Muscle World HQ, people don't readily  associate LX-platform Charger = cop car like they do with an unmarked, single-color Crown Vic.

Once I get the Charger, here are a couple of reference standards that I’ll be comparing this Mopar against. One is the ’76 Duster 360 that was my first car, factory-equipped with the E58 360 four-barrel V8 that was also used in Volare/Aspen/St. Regis/Newport/Gran Fury cop cars through ’80. The other is a 440-powered ’76 B-Body Fury sedan that was an ex-cop car, driven one afternoon while my Duster was getting a scheduled 12,000-mile servicing done.

So, my trip to the Upper Midwest didn't end as I'd planned. (but I did get to "Back To The '50s"--more on that later.) When I finally go and get it, I'll have my route back here planned out, as well asd the music that I'll be jamming to on the way.

Any suggestions, music-wise?
