Boyd Coddington Passes

World-renowned car customizer, Boyd Coddington died this morning around 6:20 a.m. Although we don't have any details on what caused Coddington's death, we do know that he was in and out of the hospital over the past couple of months. A spokesperson for the Coddington Corporation confirmed his passing earlier today and they'll be releasing a statement soon. Coddington died at Whittier's Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital. Coddington's La Habra office spokeswoman Amanda Curry wouldn't disclose the cause of death. Coddington died at Whittier's Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday. Coddington started building cars when he was 13, and set a standard for his workmanship and creativity, with his popular “Cadzilla” creation considered a design masterpiece. The customized car based on a 1950s Cadillac was built for rocker Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.
