Remember the days of buying factory built race cars right off of the dealer's lot? Well, those days are back. The package cars will be equipped with not only competition-bred versions of the venerable third-generation HEMI engine, but we also heard from Jon Clark at mopar Performance, that Magnum 360 versions will be avialable. A limited number of these Dodge Challenger Drag Racing packages will be available.

The ’68 package cars that are now lengendary, present a significant part of Mopar’s history. A watershed moment in drag racing history, they represented a major milestone in the evolution of the second-generation HEMI powerplant. Mopar’s popular HEMI Challenge racing series that is operated in conjunction with the NHRA features these 1968 cars. Modern-day super stock competitors are still building new, ‘clone’ versions of the 1968-specification car that led to the creation of what we know as NHRA pro stock today.

The race-only, off-road-use-only parts packages will be sold at Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge dealerships.

2. Didn't konw that they were taking orders already, and they haven't told us any pricing yet. Wow,how do you sell something by not letting people know the info????

3. Easy. They take your order, mark "price to be determined" and you wait. They don't even know exactly how it'll be equipped, but I was told if I wanted one I better order it NOW, so I did.

4. Sure sounds like they're trying to see how much of a market there's gonna be before they committ to it. I love Mopar dearly but this sure sounds a bit shady. No way I would order something without knowing what the price was gonna be. I can't believe Mopar is doimg business like that.

5. Admittedly it seems strange but they're doing it and other Mopar websites are touting it as the return of S/S "package cars". What Mopar is affraid of is that guys will just store 'em & not race them as intended. I hope they just don't rape us on the price.
