Real Mopar Drag Testing

The weather cooperated with us this week and we were able to get a real test of the 500ci aluminum Hemi powered Duster.

Since it hadn't been down the track at all before this test, nobody knew what to expect. For the first run we needed to know how the suspension was setup, how the transmission shifted, etc. After the first run the four-link rearend was adjusted and that helped. A few more changes and the car ran 5.19 at 135mph in the 1/8 mile! With 60-ft. time of 1.13 we know it'll launch. A few motor tweaks, some minor changes to the suspension and we might dip below 5.00.

2. If you like the blown Hemi drag stuff, you'll love the car I'm working on now. It's a full-tube chassis, double frame rail car that will be bodied with a fiberglass '70 Barracuda Pro-mod body. Of course a blown Hemi for power.

Email Randy if you want to see it in the magazine, he might have the opinion that it's a little to "wild" for the pages of Mopar Muscle!

3. I drag a 70 plymouth. Not a hemi though Somday, I hope. Thats sick.

6. niceeee. whats it weigh and why not an avenger or daytona ? I know the answer already , its a bad as. looking car thumbs up.with the avenger body or daytona ya may gain a 10th haha
